Bangladesh Airport and Airlines Infromation

Bangladesh has 16 airports and amongst them two are internationally recognized.Those two are :

1. Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport(DAC)
2. Osmany International Airport (ZYL)

But Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport is the most popular,largest and head of all airports in Bangladesh.It is situated in Uttara,kurmitola (16 Kilometers or 11 miles away) in the north of the capital city.This airport was named in respect of Muslim Sufi Shah Jalal.



This airport is the main airbus travel portal in Bangladesh and center for Biman Bangladesh Airlines,the national airline of Bangladesh.This airport is decorated with advanced radar,terminal buildings,warehouse and lots of advanced equipment for handling aircraft.

Approaximately 5 million (1 million international and 4 million demoestic) passengers ,150,000 tons of freight, mail exchange use this airport in year basis.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines flies nearly all major and big cities of the world.Lots of International flights also lands in Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport(DAC) and they are: Aeroflot,Qatar Airways, Etihad, Emirates, Gulf Air, Indian Airlines, Kuwait Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Pakistan International Airlines, Royal Nepal Airlines, Saudi Airways, Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways.



Domestic flights are Aero Bengal Airlines, Air Parabat, Biman Bangladesh Airlines,united arlines and Novo air.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines provides international passengers and cargo services to major cities of the world and major domectic routes inside Bangladesh.

The airline was managed by the govt. of Bangladesh until 23 July 2007,when it was transformed into the country's largest public limited company by the Caretaker Government of bangladesh.

The office of this national airline's is situated in Kurmitola,dhaka.Known as Balaka Bhaban,Every year Hajj,transporting non-resident Bangladeshi workers,migrants and the activities of its subsidiaries,form an integral part of the carriers's business.



This Headquarter created in February 1972.In the decades following its founding,the airline expanded its fleet and destinations.at its peak, Biman has run flights to 29 countries.New Tokyo City to the west and Tokyo to the east.Since becoming a public limited company in 2007,the airline has begun to modernize its fleet



Biman is certified as safe to fly in Europe by the Eurpean Aviation Safety agency. In addiction, the airline successfully passed the IATA Operational Safety Auditand since then it has been successfully flying to some of its previous destinations in Asia and Europe and so on.
